Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA)
OUR MISSION:
Provide a clear pathway for teachers to grow, be recognized and earn additional compensation.
BISD's Local TIA Designation System (LoTDS) combines teacher observations and student growth to recognize our most effective educators.
TIA QUICK FACTS:
- BISD’s TIA system is fully approved.
- Designations are valid for five years.
- TIA is based on 40% T-TESS and 60% student growth.
- 90% of the allotment goes to the designated teacher, minus required deductions.
- Campus allotment amounts are updated annually and vary by campus demographics/rural status.
TIA TIMELINE:
Year 1: Data Capture
Teacher observation and student growth data are collected.
Year 2: Data Submission
Bandera ISD submits qualifying teacher data to TEA.
Spring Approval
TEA reviews and confirms designations.
Summer Payout
Designated teachers receive compensation according to the BISD spending plan.
