The team of Samantha Reyna, Dorothy Magee and Amberly Patterson competed at the Region TAFE level in November (virtually) in an event called "Inside Our School"- this event required them to choose something innovative that our district was doing and create a video that highlighted it. They decided to create their video over the demonstration classrooms at both Hill Country (Mrs. Little) and the Middle School (Mrs. Bagwell). With the help of Will Fitzpatrick, a former BHS student, they created an incredible video! The girls were awarded 1st place and will be advancing to State which will be held virtually this year. there was a pretty extensive application process and they put together what would be their dream classroom that they would design for their kids other faculty staff members and communities can come in and visit the classroom and see the different classroom awesome is people are willing to take a risk they're willing to take a risk on the design the furniture the layout adding color to the classroom and the benefits that we get from that our students can move around students can walk in the door and go out somebody's willing to spend money and time and make it a pretty place to be rolly chairs call me I can get to my friends and we can move the table so we can partner up that we want to kids get the free in choices of what they're learning for the day and they're moving about the classroom in a way that works for their type of learning my favorite part is the shells because I know where everything is at look like they did 30 years ago creating an opportunity for people to get a glimpse into what classrooms can look like first thing I noticed when I walk into class images how comfortable looks like they wanted to be there I thought it was very clean and neat a lot more organized and how ordinary classrooms are they got to choose how and where they got to learn because I know from experience it's harder to work in the same place every time and not having a different option it looks very professional so it felt like if you were in a college classroom there's not So Much Death fat attention to the Bourne I just change things up and made it more interesting we are stepping away from doing big hole with instructions and we're making the type of wearing more flexible has more seating options just turned on a plastic chair the whole time makes you want to be at school and I think that a lot of kids struggle with that but our kids spend a predominantly huge amount of time in a classroom each day it really shows that the space itself can make learning more engaging the space itself can make a learning space more we're kids want to be there and want to be a part of it
