Social Media Rumor

Dear Parents,

Bandera ISD, along with Bandera County Sheriff’s Department, are aware of the social media post threatening an adjacent county and continue to monitor the situation. BCSO has been in contact with our neighboring law enforcement to obtain information and will be following the concern closely.

From the information gathered at this time, it appears it does not involve Bandera County, nor does it involve Bandera ISD students. The threat appears to be unsubstantiated and more along the lines of rumors that are being spread through social media outlets.

In an abundance of caution, Bandera ISD is informing our community so that you know the school district is monitoring this concern. As we approach the anniversary of the Uvalde tragedy, schools and Local Law Enforcement agencies have been preparing for the possibility of more people wanting to scare and disrupt schools. Please know that we will not dismiss any threat and will ensure our staff is vigilant to ensure the safety of everyone in our schools and buildings.

We thank our students, staff, parents and community for always watching out for our schools and reporting any incidents that might affect Bandera ISD.

Sincerely,
Gary Bitzkie
Bandera ISD Superintendent
