Bandera FFA Takes Top Honors at Texas A&M

The Bandera FFA Livestock
Judging Team travelled to Texas A&M to judge in the
annual Aggiefest. The team consisted of Corey Flach,
Cody Mayfield, Justin Klinksiek, and Colton Klinksiek.
The team won the contest with three of the members
placing in the top ten. Second high individual was Corey
Flach, third high was Cody Mayfield, and Justin
Klinksiek was the ninth high individual competing
against 240 other FFA & 4-H members. The champion team
received a plaque, caps, and ribbons.
The team began judging
this school year with the Colorado County Fair in
Columbus, Texas during early September. There the team
placed 5th overall, with individuals Corey
Flach being the second high junior individual and Kelsey
Dyes receiving an award for eighth high senior. The
following weekend the team travelled to Brenham to
compete in the Washington County Fair. The team placed
first at this contest competing against 83 other teams
from across the state. The team consisted of Corey Flach
(who was 2nd high individual of the contest),
Justin Klinksiek (9th high individual) Cody
Mayfield, and Katie Mangold.
During October, the teams
travelled to Hempstead to compete in the Waller County
Fair. There the team placed fifth overall. Two weeks
later livestock judgers headed for Port Lavaca to
compete in the Calhoun County Fair. The team consisted
of Cody Mayfield (3rd high individual), Corey
Flach (4th high) Justin Klinksiek (9th
high individual) and Dusty Drouin. The next contest was
in Alice at the Jim Wells County Fair. There the team
placed second. Team members Corey Flach (2nd
high) Cody Mayfield (3rd high) and Justin
Klinksiek (4th high individual). “These guys
have worked hard and put in the hours practicing to get
where they are today. We look forward to a very busy
Spring judging schedule ahead” stated Coach Fulton.
