8th Grade Football vs. Crystal City

Bandera, Texas ● October 2, 2009

It was a game won on long runs and consistent drives. The first score by Bandera came on a 40 yard run by Brennan Aguirre. Quarterback Kaleb Beauchamp carried the ball over for the 2 point conversion. Crystal City scored with a short pass punctuated by broken tackles for a 50 yard score. Tristan Johnson broke loose on a 60 yard run to cross the goal but was called back due to a penalty ending the first half 8-8. The offensive line consisting of Ruben Guel, Chris Toenes, Brett Dusek, Remi DeLeon, Izzy Olivares, and Brent Ahrens were doing a fantastic job opening lanes for the run. Kaleb Beauchamp opened the second half with a 10 yard run following the blocking of Bryce Dowda and Brennan Aguirre added 2 points for the conversion. The defense held on Crystal City's possession giving Bandera the ball its own 40. Bandera drove the length of the field and Tristan Johnson scored on a 20 yard run. The conversion failed on a run by Jonathan Raitz. The receivers Blake Reed, Scott Mangold, Jonathan Raitz, Zach Robinson, C.J. Shade, Jonathan Stoufflet, and Chris Adamson were assigned blocking duties which they carried out to perfection allowing Brennan to score on a 50 yard run sealing Crystal City's fate.   Bryce Dowda, Brennan Aguirre, and Kaleb Beauchamp were defensive standouts. Special teams were aided by Michael Marxer, Joe Reeves, and Jonathan Raitz. Final score Bandera 28, Crystal City 14.
