Middle School Volleyball Tournament a Huge Success
Bandera, Texas
● September 24, 2009
The 7th Grade
Volleyball team played in our Bandera Tournament last
weekend. In pool play they competed against Kerrville
and Mountain Valley. The Lady Bulldogs beat Kerrville in
two games 25-21 and 25-17. Player of the game was Mary
Hevenor for her outstanding serving. The girls then
played and beat Mountain Valley in three very exciting,
edge of your seat games. The first game was won 25-11,
and the second game was lost 26-28. In the third game,
the girls got behind early but with the serving of
Lauren Williams they fought back and won 15-13. Lauren
Williams was the player of the game for staying calm and
getting her serves in and getting the team back in the
game!
With these two wins
behind them, the 7th Grade Volleyball team
was placed in the championship match against Boerne
South. The Lady Bulldogs struggled from the get go and
lost in two games 25-19 and 25-23 but did an excellent
job representing themselves and the school.
In the 8th
Grade Bandera Tournament, Bandera Middle School hosted
teams from Pearsall, Kerrville, Boerne South, Mountain
Valley, and Ingram. The 8th grade Lady
Bulldogs beat Kerrville and Mountain Valley each in two
games to make it to the Championship match against their
rival Boerne South. The Lady Bulldogs came out on top
with the scores of 25-12, 20-25, and 15-12. The
outstanding Lady Bulldog goes to the entire team for
their hard work, perseverance, and teamwork to come out
on top and win the Championship.
The coaches and players
want to thank parents, teachers, and students that
helped volunteer to help make the tournament a success.
