Using Your FTP Folder

To Access Your FTP Folder
1. Access the district website: http://10.11.0.6/ at school, or http://www.banderaisd.net/ at home.
2. click on "Student Information"
3. Scroll down to "FTP Folders"
4. Click on the appropriate choice (school or home)
5. Enter your username and password
6. Log on
7. When your FTP folder appears, minimize any open windows in the background, but keep your FTP
folder open. (You can move the folder around by dragging on the blue bar at the top of the folder.
You can also change the size of the folder by clicking on the lines around the folder.)
To Save To Your FTP Folder
a. Save your document to the desktop (click File. Click Save as. Click on the chevron by
My Documents. Click Desktop. Click Save.)
b. Drag your file to the FTP folder and drop it in.
To Work On a File That's Already In Your FTP Folder
a. Drag the file to the desktop
b. Log off the Internet
c. Work on the file
d. Save the new version of the file to the desktop
e. Access your FTP folder again (see steps 1-7 above)
f. Drag the new version of the file to the FTP folder (answer "yes" when asked if you want to
replace the existing file)
Special Note: Your FTP folder must be closed while you are working on a document. Do NOT work on documents inside the folder. If you do, your changes will NOT be saved. Also, it is good practice after you have saved into the FTP folder, to drag your document from the desktop to the recycle bin and empty the recycle bin.
