When researching online, your first stop is the library’s subscription databases.  They are found on the library’s Web page or click on the database title below.  If accessing from home, do not forget to ask the librarian for the passwords.

*Literature Resource Center
A complete library of reference information and literary magazine articles covering 122,250 authors. Includes content from: Contemporary Authors, Dictionary of Literary Biography and (selected) Contemporary Literature Criticism.

*Scribner Writers Series
1,600 lengthy articles (biography and criticism) on international authors, poets, playwrights and artists from every era.

*Twayne's Authors Series
United States, British and European Authors covered in lengthy articles.

 **MagillOnAuthors

Compiled by Salem Press, this database is a comprehensive reference resource comprised of information on over 1,500 notable authors. MagillOnAuthors offers approximately 3,000 articles and over 450 images and covers long and short fiction writers, poets, dramatists and philosophers.

 **MagillOnLiterature

Compiled by Salem Press, this database is the definitive, online source for editorially reviewed critical analyses. This database also includes brief plot summaries of the most studied works in the history of literature. MagillOnLiterature contains all of Masterplots and Masterplots II, Cyclopedia of World Authors, Cyclopedia of Literary Characters, Magill's Literary Annual, Magill's Guide to Science Fiction and Fantasy as well as World Philosophers and Their Works.

**MagillOnLiterature Plus

MagillOnLiterature Plus, produced by Salem Press, is the premier literary database, combining MagillOnLiterature and MagillOnAuthors. This database includes all the literary works, reviewed critical analyses and brief plot summaries that are included in MagillOnLiterature, as well as all the biographies and author essays included in MagillOnAuthors.
