BOARD UNANIMOUSLY APPROVES NEW TEACHER PAYSCALE

The Bandera ISD Board of
Trustees approved the administrative recommendation for
employee pay raises, and unanimously approved a new
teacher payscale for the 2009-2010 school year.
Beginning teachers with a
Bachelors Degree will earn $41,600 per year. This is an
increase of $1,700 from the 2008-2009 payscale. Teachers
with one to 30 years of experience will receive a pay
raise of $1,800. The Board also continued to reward
veteran teachers by maintaining the payroll scale
through 30 years of experience, versus the State’s 20
year maximum. Para-professional employees will receive a
$50 per month increase, auxiliary employees will receive
a seventy five cent per hour increase, and
administrators will receive a $2,000 per year increase.

Bandera ISD payroll costs
for the 2009-2010 school year is $15,186,878 which is
approximately 81% of the district’s total budget. The
Bandera Independent School District is the largest
employer in Bandera County.
