SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY END SEASON ON TOP

The Bandera Middle School
Cross Country teams competed in their last meet of the
2007 season at Bandera City Park. Each full team BMS
entered won gold in their division. The 7th grade girls’
team turned in a perfect score by earning 1st, 2nd, 3rd,
4th, and 5th. McKenna Mangold led the team with a time
of 14:03, followed by teammates Sara Herrera, Ashley
Dowda, Madelyn Kinsel and Kati Fitzpatrick. Alexis
Clements and Leslie Groomer also finished in the top
ten. Analisa Gonzales, Montana Hicks, Brianna Mayhew,
Jordan Hayes, Ellen Hevenor, and Harlee Ritchee were
among the top twenty finishers. Other Bandera runners
included Ashley Baker, Taylor Clark, Devin Dews,
Kassandra Cruz, Brittney Palacios, Emma Williams, Taylor
Flores, Sarah Samford, Kristen Johnson, Hailee Lothamer,
and Emily Frost. The class of 2012, this year’s 8th
graders, repeated as District 25 AAA champions. For the
second year in a row, they were lead by Alexis Torres
with the time of 13:41 and Brandi Robinson with the time
of 14:00. Jenna Dobson finished 5th, Kilee Morris 11th,
Kelsey Polk 12th, Emily Frerich 13th, Michela Keese
14th, and Cady Wenzel 16th. The other 8th grade runners
were Georgia Folds, Brittany Lestourgen, Lizet Avalos,
Molly Ballard, and Samantha Berry.
All 5 members of the 7th
grade boys’ team finished in the top ten on their way to
winning the district gold. They were lead by the 3rd
place finish of Cody Tuma with a time of 13:23. He was
followed by David Moreno 6th, Justin Horn 7th, Michael
Davis 9th, and Ian Taulli 10th. BMS did not fill an 8th
grade boys’ team this year, but did have two individual
runners. Jeffery Nelson was 5th with a time of 13:33 and
Nicky Palacios was 7th with his time of 14:08.
