The Texas
Association of School Boards (TASB) will be offering a
free Webinar on March 24th for school board
candidates and interested citizens. The workshop will be
presented via the internet, and broadcast in the Bandera
ISD Board Room from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. The workshop will

serving as a local trustee. Mark McHargue, a senior
consultant with TASB and former school board member and
election lawyer, will explain board members’ key
responsibilities and outline the qualities necessary for
effective service. Topics to be covered include how
serving as a board member can add value to the education
process in your community, what it’s like to be a
trustee, key responsibilities of the board, division of
authority with staff, how to campaign constructively,
and where to find more information about being a
candidate. The workshop also will include interviews
with other experienced school board members highlighting
the many aspects of board service. For more information,
