Gase Signs to Play Soccer for OLLU

Nikole Gase, a senior at Bandera High School, signed a letter of commitment to play soccer for Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio beginning next year. On hand to celebrate the signing with Nikole was her mother Rene Cadena, Athletic Director Larry Prince, BHS Soccer Coach Raul Noyola, Girl’s Athletic Coordinator Steve Golemon, and OLLU Head Soccer Coach Shane Hurley.


Congressman Goes Back to School

The Honorable Lamar Smith, U.S. Representative from the 21st Congressional District visited Bandera High School to meet with students and staff from our district. BHS Principal Theresa Keel greeted the congressman and his assistant Shannon Cantrell upon their arrival. Mr. Smith then addressed almost 300 students and staff in an assembly held in the high school auditorium. During his time at the podium, the congressman talked about the unstable financial market, energy crisis alternatives, and the upcoming historic Presidential election.


BHS Celebrates Yearbook Week

Bandera High School celebrated National Yearbook Week during the week of October 6-10, The week of special yearbook-related activities commemorates excellence in scholastic journalism and acknowledges the publication efforts of yearbook advisers and staffs across the country. The first National School Yearbook Week was held in October 1987 by proclamation of President Ronald Reagan. It coincided with the Bicentennial celebration of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights, guaranteeing freedom of the press.

Bandera High School yearbook students will be beginning their 2008-2009 yearbook sales campaign this week. The 2009 Bulldog yearbook will be in full color and we are adding 16 pages to the book. BHS students will be getting a lot of bang for their bucks this year. Mrs. Colleen Lewis is the yearbook adviser for the high school. If you have questions regarding yearbooks please contact her at clewis@banderaisd.net.
