Administrative Leadership Academy met for their first
session of the year last Thursday. Twelve future leaders
began what will be a fourteen month program designed to
support and develop a pipeline of possible
administrative candidates for the district. Participants
in the program meet monthly for a two hour session
focusing on a new aspect of educational leadership. Each

hour with a review of the groups assigned summer reading
and an overview of the districts goals and objectives.

need for communications and public relations in the
school industry has changed in a session lead by Brad
Domitrovich. Using actual case studies - the
participants learned how the media influences
educational perception, examined who a school districts
target market is, and discuss how administrators shape
the attitude and face of a school district to the
public.

Bandera
ISD Tax Rate Remains the Same
The
tax rate for Bandera ISD will not be changing after the
Board of Trustees approved to retain the same rate at
$1.23 per $100 valuation. The Board voted unanimously to
keep the tax rate the same with no increase or decrease
at their Regular Meeting held on September 9, 2008.
The
tax rate adopted includes a Maintenance & Operations
rate of $1.04 and an Interest & Sinking Fund rate of
$.19. The Interest & Sinking Fund tax revenue is used to
pay for bonded indebtedness on construction, equipment,
