Education Foundation Honors Top Students

The Bandera ISD Education Foundation honored the top students from Bandera High School’s Class of 2009 at the annual Senior Recognition Banquet this past Friday night. The top 25% of the upcoming graduating class and their parents, were treated to a fine dinner and recognition program sponsored by the Foundation. In addition, each student chose a Bandera ISD educator who they determined was their “Most Influential Educator”.

Once the festivities began, the students and their educator were each brought to the stage to receive their commemorative booklet and pin. The story each student wrote about their education was narrated by Mr. Ken Kling and Ms. Joy Ryan. The evening concluded with Superintendent Dr. Kevin Dyes presenting acrylic plaques to this years Valedictorian and Salutatorian Sarah Sistrunk and Stephanie Biediger.

The Bandera ISD Education Foundation is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) public corporation operating independently under its own board of directors with no paid staff. In addition to honoring the top students and teachers this evening, the Foundation has contributed $24,000 in teacher grants this school year.
