Alkek Elementary School Principal Jon C. Orozco, has been named the new Deputy Superintendent for the San Felipe Del Rio Consolidated Independent School District in Val Verde County. As Deputy Superintendent, Orozco will oversee curriculum development and other areas including Career and Technology Education, Special Education, English Language Acquisition, and Federal Programs. “I want to thank the Bandera community for making me feel so welcome over the past few years”, said Orozco. “I appreciate the support and trust in providing the best possible education for their children”.

Orozco joined Bandera ISD in April 2007. He has also held the junior high principal position with the San Marcos Independent School District, and two elementary principal jobs with the Judson Independent School District. Orozco was the superintendent of schools from 2004-05 in the Santa Gertrudis Independent School District. “The entire Bandera ISD family will miss Mr. Orozco”, stated Superintendent Dr. Kevin Dyes. “His skills as a leader were instrumental in Alkek being named a recognized campus this past year”. Orozco will assume his new duties on May 18^th.
